WALKING ALOG THE RIVER SIDE

DAY1.- CUSCO ANDES - PILCOPATA TOWN, LODGE

WALKING INSIDE THE JUNGLE

Leaving Cusco early, we will pass through the preinca Tombs of Ninamarca, the colonial town of Paucartambo known as the region’s folklore center, Acjanacu (3,530m/11,870ft) which is the entrance to the Manu Biosphere, then, we’ll descend through different ecological floors such as the puna, the elfin forest, down into the lush Cloud Forest, along the way we may see endemic flora and fauna such as, giant tree ferns and orchids, monkeys, birds like, toucans, tanagers, etc. The Cloud Forest is home of Peru’s National bird which is “the Cock of the Rock” (Rupicola peruviana) and the spectacled bear (tremarctus ornatus) -the only bear found in South America. We overnight at our comfortable Lodge. (L,D)

AFTER THE FIRST DAY WE DO NOT HAVE A PROGRAM it may be like this

DAY 2.- PILCOPATA TOWN - CAMP IN THE FOREST OR RIVER SIDE
CROSSING THE RIVER
This means we will have an ample variety of options, just to give an idea, we can walk from the town toward the native community of Huacaria, (Huachipaire ethnic group), on the way we can see some farms, here we will have opportunity to observe their culture and typical way of living, we will hike their trails and swim in their rivers. In the afternoon, we will look for a good place to camp and fishing if we get the river

DAY 3.- CAMP –CAMP

Walking up the sides of the river, climbing mountains through closed forest, looking for fruits, in the afternoon we need to get the a river again to fish and make the camp.

DAY 4.- CAMP - CAMP
GETTING WOOD

There are places in the forest where is not possible to find the Balsa or Raft wood ( that is why we need to get a farm plate to buy this raft wood which has been already reforested, our main goal is to enjoy the nature without disturbing the nature), if we don`t find them to built the raft, we can use any other wood, but it is EXTREMELY DANGEROUS so, we take with us a small boat from Cusco, this way we just start to navegate down the river all this day if we see a good place to fish we can do it, if not we continue till to find a good place to camp and to fish.

DAY 5.- CAMP - PILCOPATA TOWN
BUILDING A RAFT

This day we continue navegating until to get the road where we take a truck to travel back to Pilcopata town where we spend the last night in lodge (D)

DAY 6.- PILCOPATA - CUSCO

We take the bus to travel back to Cusco arriving at 6 pm aprox.(B, L)
End of our services
