General Information
Important things to know before we go.

Welcome to the Real Amazon.
Welcome Home.
My name is Fredy Dominguez Valdivia. I grew up here, in the heart of the Amazon. I have a university degree in tourism, but my real education came from the jungle itself. Green Land Peru isn’t about luxury resorts; it’s about authentic, eco-friendly expeditions into a rainforest where human influence is still marginal. When you travel with us, you are not just a tourist, you are a guest in my home. Expect basic facilities, high humidity, and physical challenges, but in return, you will experience the Amazon exactly as it has been since the beginning of time.
How to Survive (and Thrive) in the Jungle
To maximize our chances of spotting wildlife and keeping everyone safe, we follow these golden rules:
- The Guide is the Jungle Boss: Always follow instructions immediately. Animals are shy and timing is everything.
- Single File, Please: Always walk behind the guide to ensure the safest and best viewing position.
- Look, But Don’t Touch: Never touch plants or insects unless your guide explicitly says it is safe.
- No Solo Wandering: Walking alone is strictly forbidden for your own safety.
- Keep it Down: Silence is key. The quieter we are, the more the jungle reveals.
Manu National Park 101
Manu is massive. Covering 1.5 million hectares, it protects an entire watershed and spans from the freezing Andean peaks (4,200m) down to the steamy lowland rainforest (150m).
Expect humid days (28°C-36°C) in the forest, but freezing temperatures when crossing the Andes. Layers are essential.
Where local communities live in harmony with nature.
Deep jungle, strictly protected, offering the best wildlife spotting including jaguars and giant otters.
Frequently Asked Questions
Everything else you need to know before packing your bags.
What is the typical group size?
We believe in keeping groups small to ensure a better wildlife experience. Normally, our groups consist of 7 to 8 people (maximum 10). If you have a larger private family or student group, we can accommodate that. We also run private tours for just 2 people!
Do I need to carry all my luggage during hikes?
No! You only need to carry a small daypack during your walks inside the Amazon (for your water, camera, and rain gear). For the rest of your luggage, you will only carry it for very short distances (e.g., from the lodge to the van or boat, usually no more than 100 meters). Our boats and transport handle the heavy lifting.
What kind of transportation do we use?
It depends on the group size. For 7-8 people, we use a comfortable 12-seat minivan. For larger groups, a 14-seat van or bus. On the rivers, we use safe, motorized canoes with roofs to protect against the sun and rain, driven by highly experienced local boatmen.
Are these luxury tours?
No. We operate genuine rainforest expeditions. You will encounter basic washing and toilet facilities, and physical discomforts like heat, humidity, and insects. We do this to minimize our impact on the environment. Your reward is an authentic, exclusive experience in one of the most biodiverse places on Earth.
What happens if the weather is bad?
The Amazon is unpredictable. Because of sudden climatic changes, river levels, or road conditions, alterations to the itinerary may sometimes be necessary. Your guide is an expert and will always propose the best and safest alternative program if nature forces a change of plans.
